Tree of Jesse wall painting, Vicar's Close, Wells
This beautiful fourteenth century Tree of Jesse, a subject rarely depicted in wall paintings, was discovered in 2014 in one of the houses in the Vicar's Close, Wells. Our work involved removing later plaster accretions, satbilisation of fragile original plaster and polychrome and reintegration of the painting for presentation.
